There is good timing and bad timing. I don’t know how much control humanity has over either, except when it’s physiologically related (cf coughing from laughing while sipping a drink, withdrawal during coitus, or graceful landings due to gravity). This week has been a lesson in timing, both good and bad.
The good timing: there was a staff development day today offsite. The first session I attended was on resume tips. The afternoon session was on interviewing tips. As of this early evening, I have a very primitive draft of a resume. Not too shabby. I’m going to beg my friends JLO, Julz and Lynski to take a gander and rip it to shreds.
The bad timing: schedules. Flights, vacations, visits, conferences – sometimes there’s just no control over someone else’s schedule. I think this run of bad timing started in May when I had the chance to meet TLC, but missed it. It continues with news of friends scheduling a vacation to the Bay during a week I’ll be at my nephew’s wedding. It continues even into this week when a friend from RfM announced a quick visit – but the window is so damn short.
